Aino Peltomaa is a Finnish singer and musician known for her distinctive work across medieval, renaissance, contemporary and improvised music.
Her artistic approach weaves together early music traditions with folk, jazz, electronics, and visual arts, creating evocative and genre-defying projects.
Peltomaa leads and co-leads several ensembles, including Peltomaa Fraanje Perkola, Ensemble Gamut!, Amor Céu, Harmony of the Spheres, ´k:amos. She has released numerous critically acclaimed albums on labels such as Outhere Music, Eclipse Music, Aspen Edities, and Alba Records. Her projects are regularly featured on international stages and radio, with appearances across Europe and beyond.
Her albums UT, RE and MI (Ensemble Gamut!) have attracted widespread interest among international music critics across genres, and have frequently been featured among the best albums in yearly listings of classical, early as well as progressive music. Recent other releases include Komorebi and ÆR by Trio Peltomaa Fraanje Perkola by Outhere music, hailed by The Guardian as “quizzical, drone-based experimental miniatures”.
Peltomaa is a member of the Finnish Chamber Choir, and her multifaceted work extends to wellness and pedagogy: she leads retreats that integrate Gregorian chant, yoga, and meditation. She holds Master of Arts degrees in Music and Psychology.
